UKTV’s Alibi casts Eve Myles in new six part thriller

September 2, 2019 - Staff@seenituk

Former Torchwood star Eve Myles will headline a new drama being made for UKTV’s Alibi channel.

Written by Gaby Hull (Cheat), We Hunt Together begins with the collision of two extraordinary people; Baba, played by Dipo Ola, a former child soldier desperate to suppress his violent conditioning, and Freddy, played by Hermione Corfield, a magnetic and disarmingly charming free spirit.

When Baba rescues Freddy from an attack following a date that has turned sour, something dark is ignited in them both.

In what’s billed as a “bold new take on the classic cat and mouse story”, two star-crossed killers are on the loose with two dysfunctional detectives in hot pursuit.

DS Lola Franks (Myles), and DI Jackson Mendy, played by Babou Ceesay, have to come to terms with their mismatched partnership and polar opposite outlooks on the culpability of the criminal mind as they try to outsmart the killers.

A psychological thriller and romance, We Hunt Together explores the dangerous power of desire and questions who is really to blame when the damaged do damage.

The six-part thriller is being produced by BBC Studios Productions and will air on Alibi next Spring.

Myles said: “We Hunt Together is a masterpiece – it’s thought-provoking and punchy, yet comic at times. Really looking forward to carving out this complicated character and working on these brilliant scripts.”

Babou Ceesay added: “I’m thrilled to be working with BBC Studios and UKTV on such a provocative and gritty crime drama. With this fantastic mix of actors, producers, directors and writer on board, we can truly create something compelling and unique.”

Dipo Ola commented: “It’s an honour to be part of the We Hunt Together team. Baba is a very complex and conflicted character and I’m excited to dive in and really un-pick his multitude of layers.

“Gaby is very talented at creating intoxicating characters and I look forward to working with Hermione, Eve and Babou to bring his scripts to life.”

Hermione Corfield said: “Freddy is not like any character that I have ever played before, and that’s what really drew me to this project. She is fiercely intelligent and has the ability to emotionally manipulate which makes for a powerful and dangerous combination.”
