Bernie Ecclestone grants rare in-depth interview to The Clare Balding Show

June 23, 2017 - Martin Hoscik@seenituk

Former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone will be the star guest on The Clare Balding Show when it returns to BT Sport next week.

Kicking off the chat show’s new run, Ecclestone will give a rare in-depth interview about life beside the track and how he thinks the sport will develop under new owners, Liberty Media.

He’ll be joined by cycling superstar Mark Cavendish, Olympic gold-winning duo Maddie Hinch and Holly Webb following their success last summer with the GB hockey team, and trial cyclist Danny Macaskill.

The series will also see Balding chat to two of England’s Lionesses, Alex Scott and Karen Carney, as they prepare for this summer’s UEFA Women’s Euro in the Netherlands, as well as football manager, Harry Redknapp, who is always on hand for a good story or two.

Olympic gold medallists Greg Rutherford and Helen Glover, Paralympians David Weir and Martine Wright, golfer Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston will also be appearing.

The series then wraps up on Thursday 3rd August, when England rugby captain Dylan Hartley joins promising Olympian, Dina Asher-Smith, on the sofa.

Balding said: “I’m delighted to be back with The Clare Balding Show which I think is different to anything else on TV in this country.

“It’s a chance to see sportsmen and women as themselves.

“At its heart it’s real sport but we also try to have some fun because I think it’s important to bring out the side of our guests that we don’t always see when they’re competing.”

The series’ full line-up is:

June 29th: Bernie Ecclestone, Mark Cavendish, Maddie Hinch, Holly Webb and Danny Macaskill
July 6th: Alex Scott, Karen Carney, Harry Redknapp and Charlotte Edwards
July 13th: Damon Hill, Andrew Johnston and Helen Glover
July 20th: Chris Coleman, David Weir and Wales & England Rugby Women
July 27th: Greg Rutherford, Carl Frampton & Martine Wright
August 3rd: Dylan Hartley & Dina Asher-Smith
