BT Vision+ to lose all subscription content next week

The remaining users of BT’s legacy TV platform, Vision+, have been warned the service will complete its shutdown next week.

As revealed by SEENIT in January, the firm is migrating customers away from the Vision platform to its new YouView set top boxes.

The switch-off got underway at the end of April when customers lost access to some catch-up content.

From the 27th of this month subscription channels will be removed, meaning the boxes will only be capable of receiving standard definition Freeview channels.

Affected customers have been offered a free upgrade to a new YouView box, but some customers have yet to make the transition.

Last month BT warned investors that the switch was expected to “adversely impact our net additions as some customers may choose to cease service rather than move platform.”
