The change is being made by Digital UK, the organisation responsible for managing the platform’s programme guide, to make space in the EPG for more general entertainment channels.
The children’s genre, which currently starts at channel number 70, will move to channel 120 while the news genre will move from channel 80 to 130.
Many digital TVs and set top boxes boxes will automatically update their guides but some viewers have have to manually retune.
Digital UK say viewers who don’t retune will not lose channels and services will remain accessible at their old numbers. However, the organisation recommends viewers retune from time-to-time to ensure they have access to all available services in their area.
