X-Men actors Hugh Jackman and James McAvoy teamed up with Virgin Trains on Monday to unveil the firm’s newly named X-Men: Days of Future Past 11 carriage Pendolino.
The newly refurbished train has been wrapped in 549m2 of film in a tie-up with Twentieth Century Fox to mark Virgin’s status as the film’s official travel partner. It’ll travel up and down the country until July.
Following the naming ceremony guests boarded the train for its inaugural journey from London Euston to Birmingham International, enjoying First Class service all the way.
The latest film in the franchise, released on 22nd May, sees characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.
Adrian Varma, Partnerships and Regions Manager at Virgin Trains said: “For us it’s all about our relationship with speed and we feel that this latest instalment in the X-Men franchise ties in perfectly with Virgin Trains relationship with travel.
“We strive to make sure our customers’ journeys are as quick as possible, as if they are time travel devices. We can’t wait for the train’s first official outing up to Birmingham International today.”
