Sky has started rolling out a new-look Homepage to its Sky+HD boxes, grouping shortcuts to the Planner, On Demand and the electronic programme guide (EPG) alongside each other for the first ever time.
The update makes it easier for viewers to find content regardless of whether it’s recorded, live or on demand.
The search facility has also been “supercharged” to allow searches across all live and on demand content by title, actor, event, channel, sport or any key word.
A further update, to be released later this year, will use Sky+ Planner recordings and downloads to recommend new shows to customers.
Luke Bradley-Jones, Brand Director, TV Products, comments: “With so much fantastic TV on offer, we know it can sometimes be difficult to decide what to watch.
“Our new Homepage means it’s now much easier to quickly find what you want, when you want to watch it – whether that’s the big Premier League clash or catching up on Game of Thrones.”
“The new home page is a really important innovation, putting Sky+ at the heart of the connected home. And there’s even more to come, with a smart new approach to recommendations coming later this year.”
The new Homepage will be rolled out on a passed basis and should be available to all 8 million customers with compatible Sky+HD boxes by the end of May.
