If you bought an ebook edition of Lauren Weisberger’s Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns be prepared to have to re-download it later this week if you want to read the whole story.
The version released last week suffers from numerous truncated sentences, jarring the reader from the story and forcing them to either complete the word or, in some cases, guess how the line is supposed to end.
All this is a bit of a shame because the bits of the ebook which are readable are very enjoyable, but we should all resent paying money for a product in which the following gets past the QA stage:
On Twitter Harper Fiction tell me: “There was an issue which should be corrected tomorrow. If you sync your device tomorrow the corrected version should download”.
Fine, it’s being fixed but this is still a pretty poor way to release any title, let alone the long-awaited sequel to a genuine blockbuster success which is being released by a major publisher.
Harper need to really up their game – the quality of this ebook really isn’t any better than one would get with any number of cheap, self-published titles.
