Virgin Media customers have been told that their bundled web hosting and cloud storage services are to be axed from the end of next month.
Many ISPs offer extra online services in order to help build customer loyalty, but today the UK’s largest cable company told users that its services would close on April 28th.
Customers are being offered a year of free hosting, plus a domain name, with GoDaddy in a promotion Virgin Media claims offers “a tidy saving of £59.88 over the year”.
However the deal is only good for 12 months, meaning customers will have to pay for their hosting package from next year.
Also being axed is the Virgin Media Cloud service which has previously been advertised as a safe place to store cherished photos, videos and documents.
Customers are being advised to open a Dropbox account and move their content across by 28 April to avoid any data loss.
