Benidorm creator Derren Litten is working with BBC Studios on a new six-part sitcom following the lives and loves of a handful of residents in the sometimes sunny beach resort of Scarborough.
A pilot was filmed earlier this year featuring an ensemble cast of talent from the comedy and drama world and BBC bosses have now ordered a full series which will be filmed on location in summer 2019.
Litten said: “I am so thrilled to be back at the BBC and with a show I am so passionate about.
“After 10 years of Benidorm I really do think Scarborough is going to surprise a few people and in very good way.”
