Business Ideas For Movie Lovers

December 20, 2018 - Staff@seenituk

Many movie lovers see their passion solely as a hobby, but there are actually a few ways that you could earn money from your love for film. What’s more, this could even take off and become your main source of income.

Much like any business idea, it is important that you follow all of the necessary steps and put the work in for the project to be a success, but, if you are patient and determined you could find great success as film is such a large and popular industry. Here are a few ideas if you want to make some money out of your love for movies.

DVD Exchange Business
While streaming services remain the most popular way for people to watch film, there is still demand for DVDs as people like to have a tangible product (much like the continued popularity of vinyl). Additionally, many people are looking to sell their unwanted DVDs so it could be a smart move to set up your own DVD exchange business where you sell used DVDs to other film lovers. You could also choose to exchange used video games as this is another huge market too.

Film Merchandise
Film merchandise is a huge market and always in demand because people are so passionate about movies. Setting up your own e-commerce store is a great way to sell film merchandise and you can use the Oberlo app so that you do not even have to store any inventory as items are delivered directly from the supplier. It can be hard to know what to sell with the Oberlo app, but for film lovers you could consider:

  • Clothing with film prints
  • Mugs
  • Action figures
  • Posters
  • Accessories

Screenings
There is something special about people coming together and watching films and this is evident with the continued popularity of cinemas. Creating your own neighbourhood film club where people can come together to watch films in a comfortable setting could prove to be a lucrative business venture. In order to succeed, you will need to have equipment of the highest quality and create a suitable atmosphere for watching films (dark, quiet etc.) Additionally, you will need to make sure that you obtain the necessary licenses in order to abide by the law.

Movie Reviews
If you have a passion for cinema and opinions that you want to share then you could always start your own movie review website/app and make money through advertising. You could include video reviews, film news, interviews and have a community section where people can come together to discuss movies and other topics.

These are just a few business ideas which should pique the interest of any movie lover. People feel very passionate about cinema so there is always a demand for film and film-related products/services which can be capitalised on by any aspiring entrepreneur with a love for film.

It is important that you enjoy and feel passionate about your work as this means that you will enjoy what you do each day and find ways to grow the business
