Retailer Debenhams is to launch a free Wifi service throughout all its 167 shops.
The WiFi service is being powered by O2 and will allow shoppers to ask friends for their opinions on intended purchases and to order out of stock items without while still in store.
Shoppers can also receive special discount vouchers allow them to save “instantly” and receive product and stock info by scanning an item’s bar code with a Debenhams app.
Debenhams Director, Simon Forster, said: “We’re seeing the shape of shopping in the future emerging right before our eyes.
“With over one million customers already with our app on their phones, free Wifi in stores has the potential to transform how people shop.”
The wifi roll-out follows “a very successful trial run” with O2 in three Debenhams stores in the UK.
