Season Two of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods is coming to Blu-ray and DVD

May 13, 2019 - Staff@seenituk

StudioCanal has announced that Season Two of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy drama American Gods is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on 8th July, along with a Season One & Two box set.

Available to pre-order now from Amazon.co.uk*

Based on the award-winning novel of the same name, the series tells of a war brewing between Old Gods and New Gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world are steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of new gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.

Ricky Whittle (The 100, Austenland) stars as protagonist Shadow Moon alongside Ian McShane (Deadwood, Pirates of the Caribbean) as Mr. Wednesday who enlists Shadow Moon as part of his cross-country mission, and Emily Browning (Sucker Punch, Legend) as Shadow’s wife, Laura Moon.

While Mr. World (Crispin Glover) plots revenge for the attack against him in Season One, Shadow Moon throws in his lot with Mr. Wednesday’s attempt to convince the Old Gods of the case for full-out war, with Laura and Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber) in tow.

American Gods uncovers a power struggle between the traditional gods of mythological roots and an upstart pantheon of gods whose behaviour reflects modern society’s love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.
