Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper are coming to Apple’s iPad and iPhone in a new app which ties-in with the upcoming new adventure Torchwood: Miracle Day which is set to air in the UK later this summer.
The new series, a co-production with US network Starz, sees the Torchwood pair dealing with a world where everyone has stopped dying.
The app, Torchwood: Web of Lies, will feature what BBC Worldwide describes as “10, three-minute motion comic narratives” which feature the voices of series stars John Barrowman and Eve Myles.
The BBC’s commercial arm says further ‘narratives’ and games will be available for download following each episode.
Torchwood: Web of Lies will reveal a past day in the lives of Captain Jack and Gwen – a day they’ve both forgotten – and allow iOS users to engage in the world of Torchwood between episodes.
The app also features the voice of Eliza Dushku as Holly Mokr who labours to uncover the secrets of Miracle Day.
Worldwide say the first comic and game will be released “promotionally” and the remaining nine can be purchased in packs of three priced at 59p. A special bundle for all 10 and the game will be available for £1.79.
