Unlucky in love, The Inbetweeners score at the box office

August 18, 2011 - Staff@seenituk

The producers of The Inbetweeners Movie were celebrating on Thursday after the movie follow-up to the hit Channel 4 sitcom took the Number 1 slot at the UK Box Office.

On the first day of its previews the comedy about four teenage lads setting off for a holiday of drink, sex and friendship took £2,584,106 from 409 sites.

Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas), Jay (James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison), have finished school forever, and are off on their first lads’ holiday. They’ve got two weeks in Malia with no parents, no teachers, no money, and – true to form – little chance with the ladies.

Producer Chris Young says “We are all delighted by the response to Jay, Neil, Simon and Will’s summer holiday.

“We’ve been so excited for people to see the boys on the big screen and we are thrilled that the UK feels the same!”
