BBC Two sends four celebrity couples on a 4,000km drive through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam

BBC Two is sending for well-known couples on a 4,000km drive through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in a fleet of classic cars.

Coming to BBC Two in 2018, Asian Adventure: The Road To Saigon will see Noel Edmonds and wife Liz, Martin and Shirlie Kemp, Andi Oliver and daughter Miquita Oliver, and close friends Tinchy Stryder and Jordan Stephens compete against each other and over 30 other vintage car enthusiasts as part of The Endurance Rally Association’s Road to Saigon competition.

Each team will have to pull together to get to the finish line of this gruelling challenge.

To be in with a chance of winning, they’ll have to work closely in their driver/navigator pairs as they follow the strict rally rules including finding their way without a sat nav and try to keep their cool when engines fail and cars break down.

The journey will take them through some of the least explored areas of the region, from the foothills of the Thai King’s Summer Residence past the Tonle Sap floating villages of Cambodia and to the Jahai tribes of Vietnam.

Over 12 days their relationships will be put to the test as they traverse rice paddy fields, jungle tracks and treacherous mountains, whilst meeting the locals, enjoying regional delicacies and staying in some one-of-a-kind accommodation.

Patrick Holland, Controller, BBC Two, said: “This series promises to be a real treat.

“The rally takes us through some amazing landscapes and the couples will need to pull together to get through this hugely ambitious journey”.
