Blake Harrison and Camille Coduri to head new ITV sitcom

ITV_logo_2013Blake Harrison and Camille Coduri are to star in a new ITV sitcom being produced by Hartswood Films, home of Men Behaving Badly, Sherlock and Coupling.

In Edge of Heaven Coduri plays the Wham! loving Judy, owner of Margate guesthouse Edge Of Heaven which is also home to her husband Tandeep (Nitin Kundra and grown up kids – loser in love Alfie (Harrison) and his de-mobbed soldier sister, Ann-Marie (Laura Checkley). 

Alfie has his whole life and future all planned out ahead of him, until his fiancée Carly (Justine Michelle Cain – WPC56, Some Girls) leaves him at the altar. 

The cast also includes Louisa Lytton as Michelle, Carly’s best mate who’s always had a soft spot for Alfie, Marcia Warren (Vicious, Jam and Jerusalem,) as Alfie’s smart as a tack grandmother Mo, and Adrian Scarborough (Miranda, Gavin and Stacey) and Robert Evans (Stella) as Alfie’s uncles.
 
The series is being written by Robert Evans (Stella, Sadie J), based on an idea he created with Paul McKenzie and was commissioned by Elaine Bedell, ITV’s Director of Comedy and Entertainment and Myfanwy Moore, Commissioning Editor, Comedy.  
 
Moore said: “We’re delighted to be able to book into the Edge of Heaven B&B alongside such a great ensemble cast of larger than life characters. We hope their lives and loves will win them a place in our viewers’ hearts.”
 
Edge of Heaven is a Hartswood Films production for ITV, produced by Elaine Cameron (Sherlock, Jekyll) and Paul McKenzie (Sadie J, Dani’s House). Beryl Vertue (Sherlock, Men Behaving Badly) is Executive Producer.
 
John Henderson (Spy, The Borrowers) and Sandy Johnson (Benidorm, Harry and Paul) will each direct three episodes.
