A 5 episode block starts with Asylum of the Daleks and ends Saturday 29th September with the departures of companions Rory and Amy.
The series will then return for a Christmas special which introduces a new companion played by Jenna-Louise Coleman and guest stars Richard E Grant and Tom Ward.
A further 7 episodes will air in the spring of 2013 ahead of celebrations for the show’s 50th anniversary including a drama about the show’s origins written by Mark Gatiss.
