Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service is to bring UK fans the second season of Halle Berry’s futuristic mystery thriller Extant just hours after each episode airs in the US.
The streaming service premiered the show’s first season in the UK ahead of a recently concluded run on SyFy, it’s now confirmed it’ll also be the first place to watch the second season.
The new episodes see astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) discover that she’s unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction, and that she and mysterious stranger JD Richter (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) may be Earth’s only hope for survival.
Extant is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and will be available to Prime Instant Video users from Thursday 2nd July.
“We’re continuing to add major premium TV shows and movies to our service,” said Jay Marine, Vice President of Amazon Prime Instant Video EU.
“Last Summer Extant broke records on Amazon Prime Instant Video, quickly becoming the most watched premiere in our history. We’re delighted to be able to bring the next installment of this star-studded suspense thriller exclusively to Prime members in the UK.”
