Fairy Tales Season Ends With Billy Goat

Paul Nicholls, Mathew Horne, Nick Mohammed and Bernard Hill star in BBC One’s fourth and final contemporary adaptation of classic fairy tales.

Is the grass always greener on the other side? “Billy Goat” are a boy band made up of brothers Connor (Nicholls) and Dean Gruff (Horne) along with their friend, Rafiq Bhavani (Nick Mohammed). As a band they enjoy relative success in Northern clubs but crave pastures new, as well as fame and fortune.

However, there is one major stumbling block: their manager is a troll. In this world, trolls live side-by-side with humans and Billy Goat are unfortunate enough to have bagged Grettongrat, a canny and threatening troll played by Bernard Hill, as their manager. He might eat mice as snacks, but this troll knows the music business and he’s got them locked in a watertight contract.

As the band’s desire for more success increases, the lengths they are willing to go to achieve it grow, with shocking results. Will friendships and relationships survive as the need for change ensues? Just how far are the boys willing to go in order to achieve their dreams?
