Two of Sky 1’s biggest recent US drama imports will return in January.
The second season of Hawaii Five-0 finds McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) sitting in prison awaiting trial for the murder of the governor when Danny brings him a surprise visitor to help clear him.
NCIS: Los Angeles will return for its third run. No time is wasted as the comeback episode picks up immediately where the second season finale left off, in Romania, with Agents Callen (Chris O’Donnell), Hanna (LL Cool J) and the team searching for the diminutive Hetty (Linda Hunt).
Intel from across the Atlantic confirms that Callen will begin to unravel his past, and that a beloved member of the team will take a bullet.
O’Donnell said: “The first episode plays out in real time. In the second we’re back on the clock, so to speak, and we look at what happened in those four months and the aftermath.”
Refusing to answer questions if this premiere concludes with an almighty cliffhanger, executive producer Shane Brennan teases: “We [often] lure the audience into a false sense of security and then smack them on the side of the head.”
