Humax has launched a new YouView+ box which it claims is “the most compact and fastest” model on the market.
The DTR-T2000 includes a 500GB hard drive, allowing users to record up to 300 hours of standard definition programmes(SD) or 125 hours of high definition (HD), as well as providing access to popular catch-up services such as BBC iPlayer.
Other on demand services available include Now TV, Sky Store, milkshake!, S4C and UKTV’s Dave, Yesterday and Really.
The new box measures in at 360mm x 50 x 245 (W x H x D), compared to 380mm x 55mm x 246mm for the older DTR-T1010 which it shares its silver and white looks with.
Graham North, Commercial Director of Humax, commented: “The Humax DTR-T2000 brings the seamless YouView service to the masses, with its attractive price point enabling even more consumers to benefit from this sophisticated TV service.
“The new box offers the first compact Humax YouView product available at a cost-down price point while still providing the high-quality service and choice of programming that customers expect from Humax.”
David Faulkner, YouView’s Head of Corporate and Business Development, added: “It’s great to see the YouView box offering evolve into a faster slim-line version with the advent of new hardware technology available from Humax.
“We are confident this new box combined with a lower price point will give customers an affordable and easy-to-use experience to find and enjoy the TV they love.”
The DTR-T2000 has an RRP of £199 and is available from major retailers and independents including John Lewis, Tesco, Argos, Currys PC World, plus Humax Direct.
