netgem.tv is now available in Ireland, bringing live saorview channels and on-demand content together on a single box.
On demand apps available from launch include Hayu, Mubi and Hopster, with more content partners to be named soon.
Launched last year in the UK, netgem.tv works with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant and lets viewers pause live TV for up to 2 hours as well as record shows onto a compatible USB stick or drive.
Viewers can also control the box and access content through a smartphone app.
netgem.tv’s range of smart-home devices have received several awards and accolades, including the Most Innovative in-home device prize at the TV Connect Awards 2018 for the Soundbox HD, an all-in-one Freeview Play soundbar & TV streamer, while the NetBox HD was named Best Freeview Play set-top-box of 2019 by Expert Reviews.
The netgem.tv service has also been shortlisted in the 2019 UK National Technology Awards in the Consumer Product of the Year and Smart Home Solution of the Year categories.
Boxes can be bought via Amazon and from Netgem’s Ebay channel and will soon be offered by Irish broadband suppliers.
