Sony Mobile announces new Xperia handsets

Sony Mobile has announced a new rage of Android-powered Xperia handsets, including the Xperia T which will feature in the upcoming James Bond film, Skyfall.

The Xperia T will serves as the new global flagship model. Sony says it includes their best HD smartphone screen as well as easy ‘One-touch’ functions enabled by Near Field Communications (NFC).

Xperia V shares many of the same features as the Xperia T, but is also LTE enabled for superfast network performance.

Sony also claims the handset “comes with the highest level of water resistance in smartphone.”

Rounding off the range is the Xperia J which the company describe as having an “eye-catching design with a stand-out screen size for consumers looking to combine great style with affordability.”

All handsets will include Sony’s Walkman app and xome with a free 60 day trial of Sony Entertainment Network’s cloud-based digital streaming music service Music Unlimited.

The phones will initially ship with Android version 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) but an upgrade to version 4.1 (Jelly Bean) is promised after launch.

The Xperia T will launch globally over the next few weeks with the other models following laster this year.
