Star Trek Discovery gets renewed for a second series

October 23, 2017 - Staff@seenituk

CBS and Netflix have announced the renewal of Star Trek: Discovery for a second series.

Currently airing on CBS All Access in the US and Canada and Netflix in all other territories, the series is a prequel to the original William Shatner series and stars Sonequa Martin-Green and Jason Isaacs.

While receiving many positive reviews, the show has been criticised for poor plotting, weak storylines and disregarding established continuity while apparently being set 10 years before the famous 1960s series.

The first six episodes are currently available to stream and the final episode of the first block of episodes will debut on Monday, November 13.

The second block. featuring the remaining six episodes, will return in January 2018.

Other cast members include Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Michelle Yeoh, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Mary Chieffo and James Frain.
