Survivors gets second series

BBC One’s updating of Terry Nation’s Survivors has been renewed for a second series, according to reports. Written by Adrian Hodges and based on Nation’s novel, the series features a UK decimated by a killer virus with only a few survivors remaining.

MediaGuardian.co.uk reports the show has been recommissioned by the BBC 1 controller, Jay Hunt, and the BBC drama commissioning controller, Ben Stephenson ahead of this week’s screening of the final episode.

The current cast, including Julie Graham and Max Beesley, are said to be returning for the second run.
