ITV is moving US spy thriller The Americans from its free-to-air main channel to the Sky-exclusive ITV Encore.
Viewers will have a chance to see repeats of the first two seasons before the third starts “later this summer”.
The broadcaster has also confirmed it’s struck a deal guaranteeing fans will see the fourth season on the channel.
The show focuses on the arranged marriage of two KGB spies, Phillip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell), who pose as Americans in suburban Washington, D.C. shortly after Ronald Reagan is elected President.
The couple’s their relationship is constantly tested by the escalation of the Cold War and the intimate, dangerous and darkly funny relationships they must maintain with a network of spies and informants under their control.
Also starring are Richard Thomas and Alison Wright as FBI Special Agent Gaad and Philip’s trickiest source, Martha.
