The trailer gives fans their first look at new villain Ultron -played by James Spader – trying to tear apart Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the rest of the world.
Like the first film, Age of Ultron is scripted and directed by Joss Whedon and sees the return of franchise stalwarts Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders.
Today’s trailer was meant to appear during the US broadcast of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD next week but was leaked online early, prompting the studio to release this full HD version.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is due out on May 1st, 2015.
