Toby Jones to guest star in BBC One’s Sherlock

Acclaimed British actor Toby Jones is joining Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the fourth series of BBC One’s Sherlock.

Appearing in the second episode of the three-part run, the Secret Agent and Marvellous star will appear as one of Conan-Doyle’s “finest villains,” according to series writer and co-creator Steven Moffat.

Moffat’s co-creator and co-writer Mark Gatiss added: “We’re thrilled to welcome one of our finest actors to the Sherlock family. I know Toby will embrace the part with true relish!”

While his on-screen identity has yet to be revealed, Jones said: “I’m excited and intrigued by the character I shall be playing in Sherlock…”
