What the return of Daniel Craig will mean for the James Bond franchise

September 7, 2017 - Staff@seenituk

Daniel Craig stars as James Bond in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures/EON Productions??? action adventure SPECTRE. SPECTRE ?? 2015 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc., Danjaq, LLC and Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. All rights reserved.

Ever since Daniel Craig first appeared as James Bond in Casino Royale, it was clear that he was keen to show that he was the real deal.

With his enigmatic combination of cool sensitivity and fearless brutality, Daniel Craig quickly became one of the more highly regarded actors to play 007.

But whilst his car chases and casino adventures left a favourable impression amongst cinema audiences, it became apparent that Craig was getting tired of the Bond role.

With some outspoken remarks stating his reluctance to return to the franchise, it certainly caught many fans by surprise when it was announced that Daniel Craig would be returning for one more James Bond movie.

For the past few years there has been a massive amount of speculation over who would be the next James Bond.

And whilst fans of Aidan Turner, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba will be disappointed to find that none of these stars will get to play the famous British spy just yet, it poses the interesting question of what will Daniel Craig do to provide a spectacular send-off?

The rumour mill has already been working in overdrive about what the next James Bond movie will include. And with the shock news that 007 will get married in the next film, it shows that the studio bosses are willing to try just about anything to keep the franchise in the headlines.

So does this mean that we can expect to see James Bond abandoning his bad boy tendencies to settle down for a contented life at home? Whilst it would be amusing to imagine 007 in his slippers reimagining his past Casino Royale glories with a quick game of poker on the InterCasino website, it would hardly make for great cinema.

So although it has been suggested that Bond quits the secret service to settle down with his wife – played by Lea Seydoux – there have also been leaks that his wife gets murdered and Bond has to exact brutal revenge upon his enemies.

As a result, it could be the most emotional and violent Bond movie yet. Regardless of whether he was in a casino or a car chase, Daniel Craig’s portrayals of 007 always managed to be the real deal in regards to a cold-blood tension.

And so it’s hoped that Craig’s final Bond film could be the best yet in this much-loved movie franchise!
