A+E Networks announces plans for new Freeview channel

May 18, 2016 - Staff@seenituk

freeview_new_logoThe UK arm of A+E Networks is to launch a new Freeview channel later this year.

A+E Networks operates a portfolio of pay-TV channels, including History, Lifetime, Crime + Investigation and H2 but last month launched a Free to Air version of Lifetime in Turkey.

The new UK channel’s name, theme and content line-up have yet to be revealed but the broadcaster says it’ll be up and running by the summer.

“We are thrilled to build on our strong UK business with the launch of a new A+E channel to the 20 million households on the Freeview platform,” said A+E’s managing director, EMEA, Dean Possenniskie.

“Under the accomplished leadership of Heather Jones, general manager, UK, we look forward to bringing our unique content to new audiences in one of the biggest media markets in the world.”
