The BBC is updating its News app for iOS and Android, with UK users getting the new version over the next few days and global users over the coming months.
The update sees the app gain tagging, making it easier for readers to follow all stories on a given topic, a customisable My News section and local news stories.
James Harding, BBC Director of News and Current Affairs says: “This is the age of mobile news. Everyone expects news that is portable and personalised – all in the palm of their hand.
“Our new BBC News app transforms the news experience for everyone, bringing you the best of the BBC’s award-winning and trusted journalism with the option to tailor it to where you live and the topics that are of interest to you.”
