Fans of Top Gear can now drive some of the show’s most famous cars after the BBC announced the show had partnered with Cie Games’ successful automotive-based Facebook game, Car Town.
As part of the tie-up, Car Town players are able to explore a branded Top Gear location within the Car Town GPS menu, complete with the Top Gear Hanger and a selection of cars featured on the TV show over the years.
The new location, available now, is themed and designed after the famous Top Gear TV show set and includes iconic, specially built, and test-driven cars from popular Top Gear episodes.
The BBC says “dozens of new cars will be added regularly”.
Robert Nashak, EVP Digital Entertainment & Games, BBC Worldwide said, “As we continue to broaden our Top Gear presence in the gaming space, teaming up with Car Town is a great step into social gaming. This is the first phase of the integration, with much more to come.”
“As huge fans of the TV show, we are honored to partner with BBC Worldwide to debut Top Gear in Car Town,” Dennis Suggs, president and CEO of Cie Games commented. “Our players will be thrilled to visit the Top Gear location and own cars from their favorite episodes.”
