The BBC has struck deals to sell more than 500 hours of programming to FOX Iberia and Spain’s RTVE and, including the BAFTA-winning Planet Earth II, and the critically acclaimed Blue Planet II which will air on RTVE’s free to air channels following its premiere on Telefónica’s pay-TV channel #0.
In total, the deal with RTVE covers more than 275 hours of major factual titles.
In another significant package deal, Pay TV broadcaster Fox Networks Group Iberia has acquired over 260 hours of scripted and factual programming, which includes the award-winning Silent Witness now in its 20th series and perennial favourite Father Brown starring Mark Williams (Harry Potter).
The Simon Reeve collection which sees the adventure journalist travel to the likes of Columbia, Turkey and the Caribbean makes up part of the factual offering.
