The BBC is revamping its Connected Red Button button service with added features and a new name.
The service offers a range of internet-delivered programming, news and sport content and is used by the broadcaster to boost coverage of live events such as Glastonbury and Wimbledon.
From April it’ll be renamed Red Button+ and become the default red button option on Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba Smart TVs plus EE TV and YouView set top boxes.
Viewers who prefer the older version will be able to toggle between them via a settings option.
