BT Sport customers have been expressing their displeasure at the UFC’s decision to make this weekend’s Tarec Saffiedine vs. Hyun Gyu Lim contest in Singapore Pay Per View.

Earlier this year BT declared itself the UK home of UFC and promised to show “all UFC events” on its three channels for the next three years.

However Saturday’s anticipated Saffiedine vs. Lim event will not air on BT Sport and will instead be available exclusively on UFC.tv where fans will need to pay £6.99 to enjoy the action.

The move comes just days after the UFC announced a new online “Fight Pass” subscription service which will give US fans “a minimum of 10 exclusive live events per year, exclusive live prelims, newly created and exclusive content.”

Details of the full UK content have not yet been announced.

Unlike in the US where main events are normally PPV, UK fans enjoy both preliminary and main bouts as part of their standard BT Sport subscription.

However on Twitter BT Sport said the Singapore event “falls outside our current rights agreement.”

UFC’s official UK Twitter account insisted that despite making this weekend’s contest PPV, “all US Fight Night and PPV numbered events will still be on BT Sport as normal.“
