BT Sport signs Caribbean Premier League T20 cricket deal

BT Sport has signed a two-year deal to show Caribbean T20 cricket, starting from July 11th.

The deal includes coverage of St Lucia Zouks, whose line-up includes former England international Kevin Pietersen. Other top name talent to appear on the channel includes Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo.

The tournament features six teams from across eight Caribbean countries playing in Eight venues including Guyana, Barbados, Grenada, Antigua, Trinidad, Jamaica, St Lucia and St Kitts.

Each team plays each other in a league format, with the top four teams progressing to a play off.

In addition to live, peak-time coverage of all thirty matches, BT Sport will repeat each match as a one-hour highlights show.

Former England off-spinner Graeme Swann will join BT’s commentary team for the competition.

Coverage starts on 11 July at 7pm when the Amazon Warriors will face Hawksbills in Grenada.

“The Caribbean Premier League was a huge success in its first year and we are now attracting the world’s best players such as Kevin Pietersen. We have big ambitions for the tournament going forward.”
