Channel 4 has acquired UK broadcast rights to This Is Us, the new series from 20th Century Fox Television and writer/creator of Crazy, Stupid, Love – Dan Fogelman.
Described as a “smart, modern and refreshingly honest comedy drama,” the series follows the lives of an ensemble of characters, played by Mandy Moore (“A Walk to Remember”), Milo Ventimiglia (“Heroes,” “Gilmore Girls”) and Sterling K. Brown (“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”).
Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Chris Sullivan, Susan Kelechi Watson and Ron Cephas Jones also star.
As their paths cross and their life stories intertwine in curious ways, we find that several of the characters share the same birthday and so much more than anyone would expect. This Is Us will challenge your everyday presumptions about the people you think you know.
Jay Hunt, Channel 4 Chief Creative Officer said: “This Is Us is unmissably life affirming with a warmth that has drawn critical acclaim and bumper ratings. It’s a great addition to our strong slate of acquired shows – from Deutschland 83 to Fargo.”
David Smyth, Senior Vice President, Sales and Development, Twentieth Century Fox Distribution added: “We’re thrilled to have found the perfect home for this wonderful and distinctive new series.
“Its provocative and compelling human stories, with an excellent cast, will be a great fit and we couldn’t be more delighted.”
