The entire first series of the revived Dallas is to be repeated this and next week following the death of star Larry Hagman.

Channel 5, the soap’s UK home, will screen one episode a night over the next two weeks starting at 7pm tonight.

As the series starts, the depleted ranks of the Ewings are no longer the all-powerful oil barons of their heyday. Miss Ellie has died, Ray and Lucy have moved on, J.R. (Hagman) is in a care home and brother Bobby is contemplating selling Southfork Ranch.

But the next generation of Ewings – John Ross and Christopher – separately plot to restore the family fortunes and when J.R. returns to the ranch to help son John Ross, foul play isn’t far behind!

Hagman died on Friday following a battle with cancer.

The show’s producers have confirmed the series will continue without him and that the actor’s death will be incorporated into the second series which is currently being filmed for a US transmission in January.
