Amazon has snapped up UK, German and Austrian rights to Mr Robot, the hit thriller-series which has wowed US viewers and critics alike.

The series stars Rami Malek as a young computer programmer who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night.

Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader of an underground hacker group played by Christian Slater recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect.

Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world.

A second series has already been ordered by the USA Network and Amazon Prime members will be able to see the entire ten-part debut series from Friday 16 October, 2015.

“We’re delighted to bring MR. ROBOT exclusively to Amazon Prime members in the U.K. This is hands down one of the best and freshest shows on TV and has had critics and audiences raving around the world,” said Jason Ropell, Amazon Video Head of International Content.
