Mobile users looking to switch to 4G can now do so for just £13.99 per month after EE announced a range of “entry-level” pay monthly plans.

Customers signing a 24 month contract can get a free 4G handset, 500MB of mobile data and inclusive minutes and texts allowance for the wallet-friendly sum.

Those who take the firm’s home broadband as well as a mobile tariff will get 10GB of 4G data for the same £13.99.

The network has also introduced new 4G pay monthly plans for small businesses which start at £17 per month (ex VAT).

The packages are being offered alongside a new EE own-branded Android-powered handset, named the Kestrel, which the network claims will offer “a sleek premium design and feel” with a 4.5” display and 1.2 Ghz quad-core processor.

Pay as you go users will be able to buy the Kestrel for £99.99 and the handset will be provided free with the new contacts announced today.

Pippa Dunn, Chief Marketing Officer for Consumer at EE, said: “At EE, we’re continually looking for new ways to make a quality 4G experience accessible to all. By introducing the UK’s lowest price 4G smartphone, and great value entry-level plans, even more customers will now have the ability to access the UK’s most advanced 4G network and reap the benefits it offers.”
