Gotham returns to Channel 5 next week with a feature length double episode.

The series explores the origins of future police commissioner James Gordon as well as the villains which made the titular city famous.

Ben McKenzie plays Gordon with David Mazouz appearing as the young, orphaned Bruce Wayne and Sean Pertwee as Bruce’s butler Alfred.

As Gordon investigates the murder of Wayne’s parents he and the young billionaire develop a growing friendship.

The show, which went off air just before Christmas for its mid-season break, was a ratings winner for Channel 5 and was the UK’s highest rating US drama last year.

9pm on the 16th March 2015
