Filming begins on Above Suspicion series 4

The drama is based on La Plante's series of bestselling novels
Filming has begun on the fourth series of Lynda La Plante’s acclaimed Above Suspicion detective drama.

The drama, which is adapted from the author’s Anna Travis novels, is currently being filmed on location in London and sees Kelly Reilly and Ciaran Hinds reprise their roles of Travis and he boss, Detective Chief Superintendent, James Langton.

Also returning are Shaun Dingwall as DI Mike Lewis, Celyn Jones as DS Paul Barolli and Amanda Lawrence as DC Joan Faukland.

In Above Suspicion: Silent Scream, the team find themselves investigating the death of British film star Amanda Delany who seemingly has the world at her feet.

Young and talented, Delany has a string of affairs with the hottest actors around. The tabloids can’t get enough of her and she, in turn, can’t get enough of the spotlight.

Then, late home one evening from a night shoot, Amanda puts the key in her front door for the very last time. The next morning, the press has gathered on her doorstep once again, this time to report on her brutal murder.

Travis is shocked by what she finds, especially when she discovers the truth behind Amanda’s glamorous public image. For all her fame and fortune, it seems Amanda Delany was lonely, damaged and afraid. But who would want to take her life?

While Travis and the team, headed by the ever demanding DCS James Langton, grapple to track down Amanda’s killer, Travis has challenges of her own to overcome.

La Plante said she was “thrilled to be making a fourth series of Above Suspicion for ITV” and revealed the latest drama would “see Travis progress even further up the career ladder investigating one of her most challenging cases to date.”
