Filming starts next month on a new thriller set in the political back rooms of London.

War Book, directed by Tom Harper (The Woman in Black: Angel of Death), is described as “a chilling chamber piece” which explores the likely aftermath of an international nuclear attack.

Written by Jack Thorne (Long Way Down, The Fades), the film will be produced by Lauren Dark of Sixteen Films and Tom Harper, and Executive Produced by Mike Brett and Steve Jamison of Archer’s Mark alongside Ivana MacKinnon of Stray Bear Productions.

The film will shoot on location in London from July 15th, casting is currently underway.

Tom Harper says: “Ever since making my first short films, I’ve wanted to return to telling universal stories with a political edge. Jack’s script is beautiful and scary and Ivana MacKinnon and Sixteen Films are the perfect collaborators for it.”

Lauren Dark, Sixteen Films says: “I’m really delighted to be working with this incredible team to bring such an important issue back into the public consciousness. We are all hugely excited to be forging a new relationship with our partners at Archer’s Mark.”

Mike Brett & Steve Jamison, Archer’s Mark added: “We couldn’t be more excited about Tom and Jack’s creative vision for War Book. This is a vital and prescient story for our age that demands to be told, and we’re delighted to be working alongside Sixteen Films and Ivana to make this project happen.”
