TV and set to box makers will no longer be allowed to display the Freeview logo on their Standard Definition products from January 1st.
The move part the UK’s biggest free-to-air brand’s decided encourage the take-up of HD equipment to deliver the best viewing experience for consumers and a more efficient technical standard which will eventually allow Ultra HD to be offered on Freeview Play devices.
Freeview is stressing that no current equipment will stop working as a result of the change announced today and that viewers will continue to receive their favourite channels.
