Set-top box manufacturers Huawei and Humax have revealed new YouView+ recorders.
With a RRP of £220, Huawei’s DN371T is its first retail YouView+ box and offers 300 hours of SD recording or 125 hours of HD of recording.
The company already makes YouView and YouView+ boxes for TalkTalk’s TV service but describes its latest model as “an entirely new generation set-top box”.
Announcing the DN371T, Huawei UK and Ireland Executive Vice President Mark Mitchinson said: “Huawei’s technology has been at the centre of the developments in British television viewing driven by YouView, via a hugely successful strategic partnership with TalkTalk.
“We are therefore thrilled to be launching our own set-top box, which includes cutting-edge innovations to personal video recording technology and will play a key role in bringing YouView to the widest possible audience by offering a completely subscription free option for consumers.”
Meanwhile Humax has updated its popular DTR-1010 YouView+ box with a 2TB hard drive, allowing users to store even more of their favourite programmes.
Both boxes allow subscription-free pausing, recording and rewinding of more than 100 TV and radio channels as well as access to catch-up content from BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and other major broadcasters.
