Paramount has released the first official trailer of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, a new film featuring Tom Clancy’s CIA analyst.
Unlike previous Ryan movies, including The Hunt for Red October, the new film isn’t based on any particular Clancy novel but instead features an original story conceived by screenwriter Hossein Amini.
Star Trek actor Chris Pine takes over the role of Ryan, prevously played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, opposite Keira Knightley as Cathy Ryan and Kenneth Branagh as Viktor Cherevin.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is scheduled for a US release on Christmas Day.
The trailer was unveiled just days after Clancy died aged 66.
