Pop twins Jeward – real names John and Edward Grimes – are to represent Ireland in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
The 19 year old brothers, who rose to fame in the 2009 series of The X Factor, beat four other acts – Don Mescall, The Vard Sisters, Nikki Kavanagh and Bling – in a public vote.
The results of the vote were announced on the Late Late Show. The pair say their ambition it to “bring the title back to Ireland.”
Last month it was confirmed Blue would represent the UK in the competition which will take place on Saturday 14 May in Dusseldorf, and be broadcast live on BBC One, with Graham Norton again providing the commentary.
Unlike the UK’s entrants who are guaranteed to perform in the live final, Jedward will first need to qualify at the semi-finals.
