TV’s latest reality show is set to explore the lives and loves of a group of young lesbians who work hard and party even harder in and around Soho’s iconic Candy Bar.
Launching on Channel 5 this spring, The Candy Bar is a 6-part series from Lion TV which joins the bars and its patrons as it gets ready to re-launch after a recent refurbishment.
Producers promise viewers “will be drawn into a world filled with drama and unique characters” as the show explores the day-to-day experiences of the girls as they search for the universal themes that affect us all.
The show features new Candy Bar boss Gary Henshaw, 24-year-old wild child former Big Brother star Shabby Katchadouria, 21-year-old wannabe model, pole dancer Danni Orsi, Candy Bar bouncer Lucy and DJ Lil Jo.
From searching for that ideal date to finding a flat-mate, changing careers to relationships breaking down, the series follows the Candy Bar girls on their journey as they search for the answers all set against the backdrop of a vibrant city.
Andrew O’Connell, Channel 5’s Head of Factual says: “With this brand new commission we aim to highlight a world that has had very little screen presence in the past and we want to bring a glimpse of their lives straight into the homes of our viewers.”
