Lovefilm snaps up Stephen King’s Under the Dome

AMAZON’S LOVEFiLM AND CBS STUDIOS INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCE EXCLUSIVE STREAMING DEAL FOR “UNDER THE DOME” IN THE UKAmazon’s Lovefilm has snapped up exclusive streaming rights to Under the Dome, the US TV series adapted by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television from Stephen King best-selling novel.

The series tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome and has been a big hit in the US.

Despite today’s announcement, the show won’t be available to Lovefilm members until June 2014.

Chris Bird, Director of Content Strategy at LOVEFiLM, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to add such a quality show with so much pedigree to our already extensive collection of great TV series.

“Under the Dome is the latest in a line of new and exciting shows that can be found on our streaming service.”

“We think this event series with addictive, serialized storytelling will have great appeal to subscribers of LOVEFiLM’s terrific service.”
