UK retailers Zavvi and The Hut have cut the price of Microsoft’s new Xbox One games and entertainment console.
According to some reports, Sony’s rival Playstation 4 has been outselling the Xbox One by a ratio of three to one.
Previously reported figures show Sony’s console sold 166,000 more inits than Microsoft’s new model after they launched just in time for the Christmas retail explosion.
Microsoft’s decision to bundle the Kinect controller with its new console has helped push the price up way above its Japanese rival – the Xbox One costs a whopping £429 compared to £349 for the PS4.
However Zavvi and The Hut have now lopped £20 off the more expensive console’s price, a move likely to be followed by other retailers in the coming days.
